How did your DH/SO propose? If you are not married or engaged how do you envision your proposal?

We were at Disney World with some friends. He proposed to me when we were at dinner while the fireworks were going off over the water.

We were at a chinese restaurant eating dinner and he was talking about joining the Army (something he had been talking about for months) and that he had to decided for sure to go. Then he just looked at me and said "so do you have a date in mind because I guess we're going to be getting married" yea, it was pretty much the worst proposal ever.

Well, DF & I had an instant connection from the moment we talked, I think we kinda "knew" without having to say anything, however, the "actual proposal" was quite funny. I was staying at a friends house, I was coming out of a REALLY bad marriage, and so I moved in with a friend, I met my fiance about 2 months later, but still wasn't "officially" divorced yet. So, I wanted to wait until the divorce was final before we made it official. My friend and her fiance & kids had left for a while, so my fiance used her kids bath letters to spell out "Marry Me Kimmy". Well, the funny part was, I never walked into the Bathroom... so my friends fiance walks in and was like "Um... Kimmy I think you wanna come here and see this" and I reply "Ok, hang on a min" he was like "NO NOW!!!" I walk into the bathroom and my fiance was so nervous he hit BOTH knees and proposed. I truly will never forget it. My fiance feels bad because it wasn't "super romantic" but I think it was just perfect for us

Ours is really really romantic. I hope you all can handle this...

In the summer of 2010, my parents surprised us with a vacation the following summer to Jamaica. We both decided right then and there that it was the PERFECT place for us to get married. I looked for rings and found the one I liked. DH picked it up and came home. Levi was screaming, DH didn't kneel and I opened it myself lol. How romantic is that? He asked but it was really nothing special. It actually fit us both perfectly. We are both laid back and neither of us really care about stuff like that. We ended up having the most amazing wedding day spent with a few family members on a tropical island. That's really all we cared about.

My DH and I had talked about marriage ever since we moved in together. We moved in together in April and we would look at rings every one in awhile and I would tell him what I liked and so on. Well about 4 months later we were at the mall looking at rings and I told him I've decided I didn't want anything fancy. I just wanted a diamond band with small diamons at least 1/2 way around the ring. (I figured if I picked out something somewhat cheap he would do it quicker even thought we weren't planning to get married for a long time, if ever, and I just wanted him to show a commitment since I had justed stayed in Louisiana for him (my parents moved back to Ohio without me and I was on my own if I decided to stay in Louisiana). I was 19, in college and had a job so not too big of a deal and we had been together 2 years. Well after looking around the mall we got back to our apartment and I sat on the couch. He started saying how much he loved me and said I better do this now before you change your mind on a ring again and I have to take it back. He pulled out a solitaire diamond ring and that was our story. We were engaged and not planning a wedding or anything but I got pregnant with Cole 3 years later and decided I wanted the same last name as my kids so we went to the JP and got pregnant when I was 8 months pregnant..classy..I know..but I love our story!!! He is the man of my dreams

Kyle proposed to me on my birthday, in between the place where we met and the place where we had our first date. I bawled my eyes out.

I actually decided to go back and find the orignal engagement story I posted on here (that's when I joined JM). So here it is two days after he proposed:

We went to this artwalk that we have in town every first friday of the month, and we were just out enjoying ourselves and we walked by this person selling jewerly and there was a ring she had I commented that I liked, but I hadn't planned on buying anything so I took her card and walked away. Well, we walked by these guys with a big smoker grilling stuff and they had grilled ears of corners so he said to me "Hey babe, why don't you get us some corn, I'm gonna go see if I can find a bathroom" so while I got the corn he apparently went back and got the ring I liked. So we're walking around, looking at stuff and such, and he asks if I'd like the whole bended knee thing when a person proposes (I said no, cause I don't) and we just keep going about our evening. Well at the end of the night we're back at the art museum in their like garden area and he pulls me onto his lap and pulls out the ring from his pocket and says "Will you be my wife and partner until the end of time?", I kissed him and said yes.

I've actually taken the girls to the art museum where he propsed and pointed out to them "That's the spot were daddy proposed", they're way more intreasted in playing with the rocks. Eh, it'll be cute to show them when they're older.

He did, it was horrible, no ring, and during a difficult time in our relationship.

When we figured our stuff out we just picked a date and went for it.

I will say that while the initial engagement was difficult, we had awesome support from both our families. I wear DH's grandmothers ring, it's simple, but means a lot.

I've never been engaged. The closest I came was when I found out I was pregnant with Jasper his dad said "So, should I like...marry you?" we were 15 at the time. I rolled my eyes.

DGF was engaged from the time she was 16 until she was 18 when she realized she didn't want to be with him and dumped him. He wasn't a great guy.

If we get engaged, I think I'll have to propose to her, not the other way around (could be wrong). I'd like to do something cute. I thought about proposing to my last girlfriend on halloween (she dumped me in August), I was going to put the ring in one of the kids' bags and have them ask her to "check" the candy. Then she'd find it and I'd propose. With current DGF, I've thought about taking her to play mini-golf (she loves mini-golf) and setting it up so she finds her ring in a hole.
