Here I am nursing my almost 8 week old son watching a baby story and wondering how long I should wait to TTC #2. I would like to have them close in age but want to wait at least six months. I had a c-section and high blood pressure, so I know I have to let my body recover first.
I saw my OB last week who said if I want to attempt a VBAC I have to wait 24 months. I can't imagine that. It us just so unfair.
Next week I'm going to start doing my Jillian Michaels DVDs again. They gave me awesome results and would love to start running again. I missed it so much. I want to lose the rest of my pregnancy weight before getting pregnant. Maybe that's the deal I'll make with myself to lose all the weight before trying again instead of counting the months. Opinions please...

well honestly i was told that your organs need like a year to get back in place and to get a rest from being pushed around

just from having a 1 yr old son i would say for me waiting a year was that right thing to do ... that being said women have children very close together and it works for them and they are very happy

i just feel i needed that time to make my bond with him .. in NO way am i saying you dont have a bond with your son cause hes so young or anything .. im just saying i wanted more time to ... i duno make friends ? lol i duno how to say it really ... umm more like i wanted more time with just me and him.

also i had a 6 mnth recovery after my son so after that i felt the first 6 mnths with him were stolen from me and i cannot imagine not having the joy of having the time to just focus on him for a bit.

also it made weaning him and then going to Dmilk easier for me not having another child to worry about in those times .. or being prego at the time perhaps being really tired or sick and still having so much to deal with

again i really wanna stress that women have children very close in age and it is everything they ever wanted so im just giving you my experience with this and what i think on the matter and why

either way ... w/e you decide i hope it fits your family and GL with your new baby boy!! GRATS!!

I had high BP with our first and got pregnant with our 2nd 9 months later. My BP remained normal for her pregnancy as well as my 3rd pregnancy. It's much more common in first pregnancies. Are you opposed to seeing a midwife instead of an OB? You might have better luck on your vbac that way.

This is it. As much as I want my children close in age, I can't imagine getting pregnant right away but within the next year we will be working on it.
I don't even know where to begin to look for a midwife here in Montreal.

My oldest two are 14.5 mo apart. In some instances it was easier to have them close in age, in other instances it was difficult. I was lucky enough that they were both good babies though! If either of them would have been anywhere near as challenging as this one is, I would have been a HOT MESS. :s

My first DD was a c-section and I had high blood pressure near the end as well (which took a while after the pregnancy to get under control) we waited until she was around 11 months to start TTC again. I think with a c-section I would wait at least 6 months, but I think it just really depends on you and how you feel both physically and mentally. If it's what you want I see no reason why you can't TTC sooner. I'm not sure of all the rules regarding VBAC's though.
