so as everyone knows, i'm pretty excited that my husband and i have agreed to start ttc the beginning of february. i've had baby fever like mad!! but i keep hearing how hard it is on a woman to get pregnant so soon. i don't breast feed, so i wouldn't be pregnant while breast feeding, but i was wondering, is it really bad to start ttc when my daughter is 6 months? i really need advice.

If you're menstruating, it's probably going to be easier for you to get pregnant. I hear that women are more fertile for a few months after they have had a baby and their AF returns.

The only issue I've heard of when having babies so close together is that it can be hard on your body. It takes months for your body to return to "normal" after giving birth. Having kids so close together before you have had time to adjust can sometimes put you at higher risk for complications. That being said, I know a few women in my real life who have had babies 6 months apart and had no problem.

Good luck As long as your doctor has given you the clear, I don't think you should worry. If you're ready to have another baby, go for it!

I have been asking myself the same question, is it too soon? I only plan on waiting 6 months and it has been hard already the short little while I have waited. I think 6 months is good. If you had a c section you may want to wait longer, I hear at least a year on those.

There was less than 10 months between my brothers... Its harder on your body, but you are the only one who can say what is best for you and your family.

Dito! If you and your family are ready then go for it! If you want to talk to a dr I dont see any harm in doing so and it could help put your mind at ease to get an ok from a doc...

I have heard the same re: C Sections and waiting a year, but my physician never gave me that warning so as long as your doc is okay with it, I say go for it! I wish I could start sooner because think about it - if your baby is 6 months, then you're pregnant for 10 months, they're already going to be almost 2 years about! Pax and my future son/daughter are going to be almost 3 years about based on my time table and I feel like I was JUST pregnant!

My sister and I are 15 months apart, no harm done to my mom (she had 5 kids in 8 years), so if you guys are ready, go for it!
