I have been emailing back and forth with a midwife about doing a home birth for my next baby, and I found out today that she can't do a first VBAC at home. I'm pretty bummed. We are only having one more baby, so I guess I will be delivering in a hospital again. Still going to go for a VBAC, but it's more of an uphill battle in a hospital setting. ;(

Sorry to hear your next birth won't be the one you envisioned. I hope you still get your vbac though!

I'm sorry that a home birth is not an option for you but at least you may still get your vbac and I really hope you do!

I always thought that I would enjoy a home birth and maybe I would have, but now I have way too many fears. I wish I didn't though...

Hopefully you can still get your VBAC in a hospital setting.

Sorry to hear that maybe you can talk with a different midwife? Hope things work out the way you had planned I want to do a water birth for my first but where I live there really isnt any birthing centers so we will see when the time comes!

Could the midwife assist with a VBAC at the hospital? Or could you talk to different docs in the area and find one that is supportive of it?

That's not good

I'd look for another MW in the area or even a birthing center before resorting to the hospital if that's really what you don't want! I had a HB with #2 and was lucky to find a MW in this hillbilly town to do one here (we just moved).

I think it is an Illinois regulation, so I will have to give birth in a hospital. My practice now supports VBAC, but I plan to hire a certified nurse as a doula, so I can labor at home as long as possible.
