For those out there who were on BC, how long were you off BC before you started TTC?

Did any of you start TTC even though your cycles weren't regular yet?

Just trying to get a feel for when would be a good time for me to get my IUD removed. I had a date in mind (May) and a date for when we'd start TTC (June) but things I've been reading recently make me think that I should give my body more time.

Do you have a hormonal IUD? I think it is generally recommended that you wait a cycle or two after stopping hormonal birth control, but not always necessary. Some people find they are not fertile right away, and some do.

Do you have the mirena or paraguard? If you have mirena, I'd remove it at least 2-3 cycles ahead of time. That's just me though. Mirena can cause all sort of cycle irregularities.

I personally have a copper IUD, and I still would like to have it removed 1-2 cycles before we start TTC, just to give my body a chance to get rid of the excess copper, etc. Before I got pregnant with DD, I think I had it out about 3 cycles.

I'm a bit of a worrier though, so I tend to go a little overboard with being careful. lol

I have Mirena. It's so odd that I see contradictory advice everywhere on the web...so many ladies say the same thing, but my doc said there's no reason to wait. Interesting.

I was on the pill and when I ran out (feb) I just stoped. At that point we were wttc but undecided on a date but I wanted to make sure my body was clear from the bc pill. We then started ttc that Sept. I ended up giving plenty of time lol

Now after DS we only use condoms. I didn't want to get on anything since im breastfeeding (im to sacred to get an iud and no way on the pill right now, only options while breastfeeding) and we plan on ttc again soon-ish (more like 1.5-2 years lol) so that works for me now.

Now that AF is back im charting again to make sure things go back to normal.
