Do you venture over to the baby sections????

I was thinking about that just now as I have to make a trip to Target to buy a basil thermometer. I'm trying to give myself a "stern" lecture right now about avoiding the baby section....sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't

So.....how many of you can't resist just walking straight by these sections? What do you look at (everything for me)? Do you just look or do you ever buy? Do you get ideas about what you want to have in terms of strollers, bouncers, etc?

i honestly never looked until i got pregnant. i guess i never got that urge or wanted to buy something i wouldn't know if i needed or not. when i did get pregnant, the book baby bargains was pretty helpful to us in making selections in products, knowing if something was necessary, knowing what to buy for a new baby. i didn't even want to buy a baby gift for a friend who got pregnant before me...we sent another friend to pick out stuff...because i just had no clue on what to get or what someone would need.

My hubby and I have gone to Target and Walmart just for that purpose!!! I just said I wanted to go look at the furniture/strollers and stuff one day and he was fine with it. He complained a little bit when I wanted to take down a stroller and just look at it more closely, but overall he did pretty well. We go to Best Buy and dream his dreams, so why not dream mine????

After I did it that once, I have done it a few more times. I pretty much know I want white baby furniture and after looking at strollers in the stores, I browsed more online because hubby said I should get a neutral stroller so it can be good for either sex and I didn't find one I really liked. This is the one I found that I like the best:

I have a neice and nephew that are toddlers, so I always look in their section when I'm at Target. But I definately wander alittle farther and check out the cut new baby stuff.

Not so much in Target or Walmart (although it has happened!), but I spend a lot of time in the clothes sections of department stores like Macys and Nordstroms. I've even purchased a few things that were on sale I'm not really into the practical things right now, I just like to daydream about cute little outfits, how I will decorate the room, etc. The strollers, diaper genies, carseats can come when I am actually pregnant. I know I'll have a blast picking those things out too, just not right now.

I looked before....I picked out my stroller, pack n play, high chair, and all that but I never bought since those are shower gifts here. My grandma always felt it was a jinx to buy first lol so I never did. I did keep a lil pair of mittens and a dress from my niece....and felt like I was jinxed lol! I got the same stroller nad everything anyway lol. Sage green winnie the pooh. Now I think about how I could turn my sons bedroom into a room for a toddler and a baby since the 4th bedroom is right at the top of the steps and all the way on the other side of the house from mine so I wouldnt want to put a baby or my son in that room lol. So yeah, Ilook....of course I buy since I'm always getting him something. Now I'm eyeballing the go diego go bedroom set!

LOL, I have told my DH that Target is taunting me with their baby section. They have cute clothes right along the back aisle so you can see them. I have a thing about little tiny baby socks! Haven't bought any yet though.

Since I have Rylan, I have to go there... not as much now as when he was tiny, but I still do. And I stay for like 10 minutes just look at all the little clothes, mostly girls' stuff. I hate it, because I know we can't TTC NOW, but I want to... so bad! LOL

I never looked until I got pregnant unless if I was buying a gift. BUT I also didn't buy anything For Aiden untill I was three months into the pregnancy. My mom is very superstious when it comes to babies. And she rubbed it off on me! She has had a couple people in her life that bought everything they needed and had premature delevery and lost the baby, and a still birth. I couldnt bare it. Not if I had all the stuff to look at! Not at all even if I didnt have things to look at! So i really dont buy anything except for the stuff Aiden needs!

Yes, I do this a lot, and I don't even try to talk myself out of it! It's one of the little things I can do right now that feels real... like yes, I really am going to have a baby one day.

I'm in the baby section once a week or every couple of weeks to get diapers and whatnot for my DS, but today I took some time to look at newborn stuff that was on clearance We were also at BRU today, and I was drooling over Graco's new girly print for carseats and whatnot.

Seems like I am always in there for one reason or another since I have AJ. Before we had AJ we would go look at stuff. We went to BRU to get child gates for the dog and we looked at everything else while we were there (per my request).
