It all started with my Dr. appt on Tuesday 04/14 Dr. said since I had gestational diabetes and I would be 39 wks by Thursday, if baby did not come natural he would induce me on Friday. Friday came and I started feeling lots of pressure where I couldn't even sit down anymore, I had to eat breakfast standing up, I thought something was going on so I decided to go to the hospital earlier than my appt. I got to the hospital and they checek me I was completely closed and baby was way up high, Dr. came in and said he would start induction, They put in the Cervadil I think it'a s strip that is supposed to soften your uterus, they started that at 3:00pm and said it would be in for 12 hours and depending on how that went I would get pitocin early in the morning. Apparently everything was going well with the cervadial I started having contractions at about 1:00am they came strong and about a minute to two apart, the nurse really thought I was progressing, they were so painful that I thought they were working too, she finally decided to check me since I was in so much pain, to our surprise I was only finger tip dialated and about 50% effaced, at 3:00am she took out the strip and checked me again I was only 2c, dialated same 50% effaced, I was in so much pain that I asked for the epidural, I had it at about 6:00am and that's when they started pitocin, dr. came in to check me at around 12:00pm and guess what I was still only 2 cm dialated 50% Dr. said he would give me 3 more hours at 3:00pm he came in and checked me and I was in the same the same place he said that I had to have a c section, and off we went, they started prepping me and from there everything went super fast by 3:43pm baby Camila was born, 7 pounds 9.2 onces, 18 inches. I was so scared during the c section thank god DH was there with me the whole time, when I heard the baby cry it was unbeliavable the greatest feeling in the world, I never heardthey said it was a girl, so a few minutes later I asked is it a girl and whole staff replied YES I was so happy, I saw her only for a brief moment but new that everythiing I had just gone trough was worth it. I really felt like my body failed me in everyway, a c section was the last thing I wanted but when the Dr. said it was the only way I new it was what needed to be done. All my family was there waithing for the baby, my mom got to see her on the way out of the OR, and the family got to see her on the nursery, Baby Camila is doing great, I'm doing good but still in pain, I just want time to go by fast so I can take care of my baby properly, I have lots of help from my mom and DH. Althought it was a traumatic experience it was all worth it, we are so in love with our baby, she is perfect in everyway.
