Good points:
I thought it was a really good read, full of useful ideas on how to manage your baby's sleep issues.. it covers pretty much everything breastfeeding/bottle feeding, cosleeping, crib sleeping, transitioning, and ideas for toddlers.

Bad points: not many but there was so many ideas in there i don't think i would remember them,... however she gives you charts and things to make note of what your doing, and progress reviews too.

overall impression: very useful if you want to change your baby's sleep habits

what age? from four months up, but there is a section on forming sleep habits from birth, so worth a read in pregnancy i think.

stars out of five:4 (cos i havent tried the techniques yet)

Good points: she discusses an infant's sleep cycle in depth and it makes a lot of sense. She has a variety of ideas for all kinds of infants (colicky, co-sleeping, breast-fed, etc)

Bad points: can't really think of anything bad...although i didn't like that she felt babies shouldn't nurse to sleep and you should push on their chin to close their mouth to get them to stop nursing

overall: very informative, lots of ideas for pretty much everyone

age: 4 months+

stars: i'd give it 3 or 4. we did implement ideas when we tried to move Lily from co-sleeping to the crib, but it didn't really work for us. our issue is that Lily will wake screaming and then fall asleep and wake again the 2nd you put her back in the crib and repeat this over and over and over again. this book didn't really have a good solution for that for us. but i did like the book and i recommend it to other moms who would like their babies to sleep longer.
