So i am finally gonna just do it and order a Mei tai... Eva is almost 10 months old.. but i still think ill get some good use out of it.

I home made my own mei tai and decided i really dont like the tying around the waist part and would like to get a half buckle mei tai.. Ive looked up some sites for them and they all seem so complicated to order from! "custom slots" etc...

and ive never used a half buckle mei tai.. so if you have one or have tried one.. or if you know of a site i should consider.. please share!

No idea about the buckles but just wanted to pipe in that me and my 15month old still love using the mei tai so chances are you'll get plenty of uses out of it.

I have nothing to add as so far I've only used a Moby wrap, but I just went to Jessica's site and I have to order one now, too! Can't wait to see the pics when you get yours!

I've been thinking about adding the 1/2 buckle as an option on the Mei Tai's and now Em has kicked my butt into gear in doing so Once I get hers finished up I will probably add that option in on my site (as well as fix all the rest of my site, my host change really messed things up)

If you want, Ill have my sister (who is a great photographer) take some pictures of Eva and I with the one you are making and you can then add those pictures to your site for people who might want to order a half buckle too.... ?

You made your own? Did you find instructions online or did you just wing it? My sister's got a Mei Tei, I guess I could just study that one and wing it, lol. Any tips? I love making things!

i totally just looked at pictures and got some of the measurements and did my own thing.. i just straight stitched everything and the straps arent nearly as strong as they should be, i can here the stitches popping sometimes when i tie it.. I am no seamstress! Thebabywearer.com has really good do it yourself instructions though.. that if you do know how to sew at all im sure you could use it..
