Hi everyone! I haven't been posting a lot, because I've done some inward searching and decided that it was time to make changes in my life. I've been checking back and reading here, I just haven't had the time to post much. Warning: this is one of my epic novel posts. Sorry, I guess I'm making up for not posting all this time!!

The biggest is that I got a job. very very part time, but very very exciting for me. It's at a new science center here in Toledo that is opening in a month. It's crazy cool. I get to light stuff on fire and freeze things with liquid nitrogen and have all kinds of fun with science. I also get to test out all of the exhibits. I was the first person to go into the hurricane room, ever. It's this little room with a channel of air, and you push buttons to make the air blow faster and faster- up to hurricane 1 levels, right on your head! It's wild! So that's been very exciting for me, and has actually really focused me. The house is clean, everything is organized... everyone's noticed how much more like "me" I am with just this fifteen hour a week job to channel my energy into.

I've also decided that I can't be a hermit with only friends that I know through a screen. Don't get me wrong, I love you ladies, but I really need to make friends here that I can call or go out for lunch with. I'm not really new to the area anymore, and I still don't have any friends. So I went to Yahoo groups and joined a natural parenting group, which I have yet to meet up with, and a MOMS club group which is a national club. I've met with them several times, and gone to dinner with them and done field trips with Jonah. Sometimes I feel out of place... like at dinner one half of the table was talking about football and the other half was talking about how great epidurals are and c-sections... but a lot more times I feel like they really are a good fit for me. It's good to be social again. My friends in Cleveland were all from work, so I stopped working and lost my social life as well. The people I'm working with now are SOOOO not my crowd, I can't see making any lasting friendships with them outside of the job, so I'm really happy about finding this MOMS club. And I dont have to agree with everyone's opinion on everything to be their friend, as long as we respect eachother's choices.

and the final change is that I joined a Curves center. I think a huge issue with my hormones and health etc. is that maybe I am not taking good care of myself. I watch way more TV than I ever have, sit on the computer a LOT, and probably eat junkier food. I thought I was taking care of myself, but I dont think I really was. My thyroid tests came back that everything is normal, so before I do more invasive tests I've decided to exercise more and eat a lot less processed foods.

SO, that is why I've been gone. Cast into the shadows of lurkdome. Jonah's a year old now; it's time to focus on me just a little bit LOL

Oh, and Jonahs doing great! He's a year old now, and oh my gosh so independent! He just cracks me up. Not walking yet, but soon I think. Maybe in the next month. He lets go of things when cruising, but not often and not confidently. He won't stand on his own for more than a millisecond.

Hey Jess!

I'm glad your job is doing positive things for you. Sounds like a great place for you to be. I'm glad that you found some mommy groups, sounds like fun. I have often thought about getting into some mommy groups but can't find any around here. Good for you for working towards a healthier lifestyle! I'm so glad that Jonah is doing so well.

We aren't to give a baby milk, berries, or peanut butter. We are to introduce new foods one at a time. But it's OK to inject several viruses, bacteria, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol, animal serum, mercury, squalene and more into an 8 week old? I don't think so.
In order to be healthy it is an unfortunate fact that people must be allowed the opportunity to be ill. I trust my body and those of my children to work correctly against the relatively benign diseases they vax for, and do not trust the ingredients in the vaccinations.
Our choice to not vax isn't based in ignorance, poverty, conspiracy theory and rumor. It's research, common sense, fact and evidence based..something the medical community has largely forgot about.
