I stole this idea from the ladies on the traveling mommies board. Anyway, here is a thread where we can chat about whatever. I think it will be great. We can talk about anything. Post whatever you feel like.
Dh has to go to work at 1:30 am and he will be gone all day b/c he is doing two different airborne jumps He hasn't jumped in a couple years..... I honestly don't think its gonna happen. We got so much rain today and it is still supposed to be raining tomorrow. I bet it gets cancelled....

We have had more than our fair share of rain lately. It was partly cloudy today, hopefully we will see the sun for real tomorrow! We went out to dinner tonight to celebrate my b-day from Saturday. We went to a vegan restaurant near us that I love. We brought DD and were happy when we saw the only other diners were a mom with her infant and toddler We fit right in! Now I am stuffed. blech.

So, I know this is probably a dumb question, but what is the difference between vegan and vegitarian?

That is very interesting. Will you be raising Zoe the same way? Is your DH also vegetarian? Have you always been vegetarian? Sorry for so many questions, I am very interested

I have been a vegetarian for 18 years (i am just 31). DH is not, but eats 90% vegetarian. We will raise Zoe vegetarian. At first DH was not keen to the idea, but now he is 100% for it!

Good for you for being able to be a vegetarian and raising Zoe like that. I've tried so hard, not because I think it's wrong to eat meat, but because it's so much healthier. I just can not do it! I like meat too much.
Any suggestions on how to go at it? My oldest DD would like to too, we talk about it all the time. I wouldn't have a problem with my two middle children, they don't eat anything, lol.

Yeah, I could not handle it. I love meat way too much.
I think its great for other people if that is what they want to do. I think it is really cool that you will raise your children that way.
Dh made it home from jumping today. He now has Italian jump wings. That is great for his career! I am so happy for him.

the easiest way for my DH to transition (he really is atleast 90% veg) was to find fake meat and vegetarian options he liked. For example, Morningstar farms makes a frozen ground veggie burger that you can use in meat sauce, tacos, sloppy joes, chilis, etc. It tastes pretty much like meat. Then there were the morningstar sausages that DH liked better than real sausages. He likes some veggie burgers but not all.
Now, we have moved onto bean and grain dishes, like hearty lentil stews, etc. Maybe try one vegetarian dinner a week and go from there.
My favorite websites for recipe are:
vegweb.com
vegandad.blogspot.com
fatfreevegan.com

Thanks for the info!
Sarah, that's great about your hubby.
How was everyone's day? Mine was pretty slow and boring. Not to mention two of my four kiddos are sick. We've been dealing with all this sickness for 3 weeks now. Been to the doctors more times than I can count. I just don't know what to do anymore, it's completely draining me!

My day was fine. I worked this afternoon and evening. Zoe was really cranky tonight, I think it was something I ate last night. I had a spring roll which probably had cabbage in it. I was not thinking (i did pick all the cabbage out of my lo mein though! LOL). About 6 weeks ago i had a few bites of cabbage and ZOe was very sick and screamed and yelled (she is a very mellow baby). Well, I guess the same thing happened today It was so terrible. DH made me get on the webcam at work, which just really upset me I drove home really fast. I got home and put her on the boob and she nursed for an hour then dozed for about 20 minutes. I took her upstairs and gave her a tummy massage with some waleda tummy oil and she was giggling. I nursed her again and put her to bed. I hope she is ok tomorrow. It just breaks our hearts and all we can do is hug her. I figure if it was something awful she would not have gotten all happy after the belly massage and played on the bed for 30 minutes rolling and trying to eat her feet. whew!
now i gotta get ready for bed.

Poor thing. That used to (and still does if I have to much) happen to Bella when I would drink milk, have icecream or yogart. I hope that today is better for you and her.

We aren't to give a baby milk, berries, or peanut butter. We are to introduce new foods one at a time. But it's OK to inject several viruses, bacteria, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol, animal serum, mercury, squalene and more into an 8 week old? I don't think so.
In order to be healthy it is an unfortunate fact that people must be allowed the opportunity to be ill. I trust my body and those of my children to work correctly against the relatively benign diseases they vax for, and do not trust the ingredients in the vaccinations.
Our choice to not vax isn't based in ignorance, poverty, conspiracy theory and rumor. It's research, common sense, fact and evidence based..something the medical community has largely forgot about.

I know the story at Ft. Hood is sad. My friends Dad is stationed there but luckily he is okay. Addi has been so go go go lately. I am so not ready for the terrible twos!
