Hi girls!
Hope some of you experienced babywearers can give me some advice.

Harry is a grumpy baby. I dont like giving him that label, but thats the best way to describe him! I would love to babywear him, but he doesnt seem to like it! He is 6 weeks old.

We have a moby, and he hates the cradle hold. tried it a good few times, and every time i put him in he screams and wriggles and tries to kick it off.
The hug hold is a bit better, but he doesnt like to have his head restricted with the shoulder panel, but leaving it out makes him floppy and not very supported. he also wont stay in longer than 4-6 mins, he starts pushing down his legs.
Last night i put him in the legs out hug hold and he seemed alot happier with that, but i was wondering is he too young to have his legs out? and we still have the head problem.

What positions do you find best for very young babies? also, which carrier did you use? I think its the moby that he doesnt like and not babywearing. I would like to persevere but i feel so lost with it all! I dont want to spend alot of money on a carrier, like a babyhawke would be fantastic but i just dont have the money for it.

Babies can be worn legs out from birth as long as they're properly supported from knee to knee with the knees higher than the butt. I've always worn DS legs out because it's how he preferred it. With the Moby hug hold, you don't have to put a panel over his head if he's leaning against you or had any head control. Sounds like he doesn't like his legs being constricted, so try the hug hold legs out and see if that helps.
And not even my son seemed to love BWing those early days. I just wore him anyways because I had to get stuff done. As long as I stayed on the move and was calm, he would calm down too. These days he LOVES being worn and will even ask for it.

I used the Moby first and then quickly added a mei tai to my stash. It was less frustrating for me. I was getting angry at the Moby which in turn made DS upset.

That lady who makes MTC is well known for quality mei tais. For $30 it's a great deal!

I also really like ring slings for babies.

I LOVE my SBP ring sling. This one is a good one to start off with and it's reasonably priced too!

My son was not a fan of having his legs contained either. He was the type newborn who was NEVER curly and drawn inward. Day one out of the womb he wanted his arms above his head and legs flailed. I have been wearing him with his legs out since he was about 2 weeks old. We have a Baby k'tan (much like a Moby) and he likes it quite a bit. He always falls asleep, even in the crazy busy grocery store. As for the head control, I always just tried to make sure he was either leaning against me or I had the wrap up to the lower part of his neck to add support. It worked pretty well for us. And before you know it Harry will have better control. It seemed to come all at once for us.

I also have a Mei Tai that we love. And a ring sling that we were "eh" about, but I might like it later down the road. And we love our Ktan. I think that as long as you have a versatile carrier, you can find something he will like. Hopefully he grows out of his "grumpies."
