To put a queen sized bed in the baby's room, put it against the wall with a rail on the other side, and have her start the night in there?

I don't want to just put her in a crib, because I nurse her to sleep laying down and I don't want to move her once she is asleep, I want to just creep away.

My plan is to put her to sleep in there at the start of the night, as her first stretch is usually 2-3 hours and it would allow DH and I to go to bed together without trying really hard to be quiet. Then when she wakes I will bring her into bed with me. We do have her crib side carred, however she is usually in the bed because it's just easier to get her to sleep that way, and for the rest of the night she is usually snuggled in my arms.

Thoughts? She is not mobile yet so it's hard for me to comprehend how much she might be rolling around in her sleep.

That's exactly what we do, except that we have Beau's big mattress on the floor so that even if he did happen to roll off, he wouldn't fall far and it would be on to carpet. It's what we did with Charlie, as well (more or less). If you have the space, then I think it's a good arrangement.

I have known quite a few people who have done this. In fact, that is what I plan to do with my son once he is out of his crib. I don't see the point in spending the money on a toddler bed.
