I do the cooking, and I generally do menu for the whole month before shopping. I like to make sure there is a lot of variety in the month. get sick of the same things all the time!

Who does the grocery shopping? both of us. occasionally, my husband will pick something up on the way home.

Do you have a budget for your groceries? we have a weekly budget for spending, period. if we choose to spend more on food that week, we just spend less on something else.

I do all meal planning and 95% of the cooking (the 5% is going out to eat or DH throwing something I've made for the freezer into the oven). I normally do all of the grocery shopping, but being pregnant and sick with a cold DH has gone the past 2 out of 3 times. He does get a detailed shopping list.

We normally stick to a $50 a week budget, but that always goes out the window the first 6-8 weeks we're in a new house. We have to buy all the basics again since we start off with almost nothing after a PCS (I keep dried spices and that's about it). That really adds up quickly. This past week I was down to $60 so I bet I can be back down to $50 or less by beginning of May.

Who does most of the cooking at your house? We are pretty 50-50 in the cooking department. We do lots of "quick and easy" stuff...so it is just whoever doesn't have a kid or decides to make dinner. If it is something more complicated than just a half hour or so, I do it during the day.

Does the chef meal plan ahead of time?I do all of the meal planning. When DH is cooking, he asks me what is for dinner. He has no clue what to make. I generally get out what's for dinner...at least the dry stuff...early in the day so if he gets to it first, he can start it without having to ask what we are having (unless the ingredients don't make it obvious).

Who does the grocery shopping? Me. He will stop for the one or two things I might forget or need on the fly (milk, fruit). But I do the big weekly run.

Do you have a budget for your groceries? We have an overall budget for each week that I have to stay in. It is for everything from gas to groceries to entertainment. So I guess we have a grocery budget. Most of the weekly money goes toward groceries. And gas for my truck...which is decidedly ungreen

Do you have a budget for your groceries? We did when money was super tight. That was rough since we had like $40-50 to make last as long as we could. Now things are much more relaxed, so we don't really budget budget, but I check sales and stuff.

Who does most of the cooking at your house? Its really 50/50 between DH and I because DH LOVES to cook. There are some nights that I want to cook and he is like "No I want too" so we then have to decide who cooks. lol

I do most of the shopping and cooking. I love to cook. I do not do meal planning, it is whatever we're hungry for that day. I don't have a budget, but I do like to try to keep it at $100 a week.
