So, we flew into Orlando Saturday night around 11:30 pm and by the time we got our bags and got back to my parents house it was nearly 1 am. Juliana had fallen asleep for more of the 45 minute car ride home but woke up when we took her out of the car. At that point my mom decided to show her the new toys she had gotten her, which was a terrible idea, and she was wired until 3 am. Finally we went to bed but she woke up more than usual, which I attributed to being in a new place and being excited.

She seemed mostly fine Sunday other than being a bit cranky, but Sunday night was BAD. She woke up constantly, cried a lot, and pretty much squirmed around all night. I am sleeping with her in a double bed with a crib pushed up against one side as a bed rail. She was very fussy and picky all night and kept pointing to different spots on the bed where she wanted to sleep. I feel bad about thinking she was being a diva at the time, because now I know she was just having a hard time getting comfortable. Anyway, at one point she decided she wanted to sleep on the other side of me (not near the crib) and I eventually gave in due to exhaustion, but tried to keep my arm around her. Well, at one point I woke up to the sensation of her slipping through my grasp as she fell off of the bed. The bed was up high but over carpet, so it was not all THAT bad, and she cried right away so I knew she wasn't hurt too badly. Still, it was pretty awful.

The next morning she threw up twice, and acted listless all day. I thought maybe she had a head injury so I took her to the doctor. Her head was totally fine but she had an ear infection.

Now we've started her on antibiotics and she's much better, and even slept 9 solid hours without waking up. Yesterday was pretty miserable for both of us, though.

I am willing to bet all of the previous nights were ear infection related. I know my boys are miserable 2-3 days before we get an ear infection diagnosis. Sometimes even before they are actually looking infected. The moving around and being squirmy sounds soooo familiar!

So glad that things were better with the antibiotics. And I hope the rest of the week goes smoothly.
