In the other thread on "more than one" kid, I mentioned that you love your children for different reasons. That each child brings something new to the table. And in light of me being more likely to be irriated than appreciative of my kiddos at this time (I am totally blaming lack of sleep), I wanted to do a positive post
So, what is it about your child/children that makes you totally fall in love with them over and over again?

For Liam:
I love how he invents things that make sense to him. Since he is not a huge talker, he uses a combination of body language and facial expressions to get his point across. He will make a statement "Dinner ready" and raise his eyebrows and shrug his shoulders to make it a question. Or he will say "Like it" while shaking his head, effectively letting us know he doesn't like something.
At night, I rock him before bed and then tuck him in. And he always, always asks for three more songs in the same exact order after I put him in bed. If I start singing the wrong one, he will stop me (hand in the air while shaking his head) and point out which one I SHOULD be singing. He is just particular in his routines, which allow ME to know what to expect too!
When someone is upset or crying, he will come over, lift their head up and give them a hug, while patting their back. He can't stand that someone is not happy. Sometimes he will even say "Better" while doing that shrug, eyebrow thing to make sure that he made them feel better. If they still seem upset, he is known to offer up a toy or book to "distract them" from being sad. He is just so empathetic that it makes my heart burst sometimes (I am NOT empathetic!)
For Kieran:
He is so flipping zany. I have never met an 11-month-old with a huge sense of humor. But he does things that intentionally make others laugh. He loves to make noises, faces, or actions that bring about laughter. I don't think he takes life very seriously.
At night, when he is sleeping in the side-carred crib, he will look up, grin at me and then nestle into my side to go back to sleep. That neediness won't be there much longer...so I love the sweet, sleepy faces he gives me now.
The kid can EAT. I can plunk down just about anything in front of him and he is a vacuum cleaner. Asparagus shoots, bring 'em on. Feta cheese, you bet. Olives sliced up...yum. Its really cool that he doesn't have a picky palette.
