Do you do any little things in your daily life that help you stay sane?

How do you keep from getting worn down by the demands of being an AP mommy?

I love lying down with her while she naps. It is a peaceful time of my day and I can make plans, catch up on correspondence and surf online on my phone. On days this doesn't happen (like yesterday) I feel a lot more frazzled by the end of the day. I also take long showers when daddy is around to watch her. And I don't beat myself up if the house looks like crap or we get take out for dinner, when it has been a rough day.

i knit or crochet while he naps and in the evenings after he goes to bed (he's normally asleep by 7.30)...creating things and having projects keeps me sane. i like my hands to keep busy.
as a family, we go for hikes in the forest/mountain..this gets us all out and seeing nature and getting fresh air is always relaxing.

While I put Claire to bed, DH runs a hot bath for me. When I come downstairs, I take about 30 minutes to just soak and relax. It is my "me" time to decompress and unwind, and I look forward to it all day

When he is asleep for the night I chat with some friends on facebook and browse the internet a bit. I enjoy it.

Every night we take a bath together, but she plays independently in the bath about 90% of the time, so I read a book. This is my time to relax and decompress.

I go to the gym every Saturday morning no matter what and DH takes her to Gymboree. I take my time showering afterward.

That's about it.

I really enjoy taking the first nap of the day with Drake. It relaxes me.
