Which do you prefer? Animated movies or cartoons?

Before I had Drake I knew I would have to watch cartoons and I do not like them. Well, that was then. Now I like them. Maybe it's because of him? Probably. I do prefer animated because it looks more real but it's whatever now.

Did you not like cartoons either before your LO came?

I have always hated cartoons for older kids and adults... like all the fighting/battle shows, or stupid potty humor shows, or dirty shows... just annoying to me.

But I actually like little kids cartoons. I will admit that there have been times when nothing was on TV that I may have watched Nick Jr. or Disney Jr.

There is some quality stuff out there. I enjoy Miyazaki anime movies, like I watched Ponyo and Howl's Moving Castle in the theater. I think Wall-E is one of the best movies ever. I like Pixar. I like some of the newer animation out there like the new My Little Pony tv show. I also still love some old school Looney Tunes.

When I was a kid with a morbid sense of humor, I *loved* Ren & Stimpy and I still can't believe they showed that on TV, marketed to kids, it was so twisted, but so hilarious. And I like Animaniacs, I considered that high brow entertainment as a kid my TV time was limited but I really liked those shows.

I don't go in much for run of the mill Disney movies and such. They just don't interest me. Of course I've seen them all though (at least the ones out when I was a kid). Maybe my favorite is Alice in Wonderland.

I am not a fan of Nick Jr one bit but I do like Disney Junior. When Drake is asleep and I am surfing the channels I do catch myself seeing whats on Disney.

I have never had the want to watch anime, from what I have seen, like clips or a commercial or something in a magazine it just looks so awful to me. What is the appeal? Do you watch it for the art or for the actual story line? I am so curious!

I also loved the Animaniacs as a kid!

I dont know. Something about drawings moving I do not like. Then again I am not a movie person at all so maybe that is why.

But, I will admit I love the Toy Story moves and the Shreks.

Different anime is very different. Miyazaki movies are very famous and well known in this country, not as edgy or freaky as some others. Just very imaginative and visually stunning, the two I mentioned are pretty family friendly, although with some scary parts, the tsunami scenes in Ponyo really scare me. Here is the English trailer for Ponyo:

I like cartoons, but I am picky. I expect something from entertainment, even if it's cartoons. I like the sprout and learning channels for cartoons.

Animated movies, well I'm not as picky. I'm not a huge tv person though so even if I like it, I usually don't watch it.
