Is there anything you do that other people think is really weird? Or anything that makes them think, "What a hippie?" or anything like that?

For me, there's a couple things the people around me think are weird. I have a lot of support with homeschooling, but I also have people who I know are like, "WOW, what a loon!". I think the think people think I'm most nuts about right now is that I plan to ingest my placenta after birth (via a shake and then dehydrated placenta pills). I know it's not for everyone, but to me it doesn't seem weird at all and if it helps with my PPD (that I get after every pregnancy) it will be totally worth it!

Hahahaha you need to come visit my town!!! I could smoke pot, dumpster dive, birth unassisted, and refuse to touch receipts because of the chemicals, and no one would bat an eye. I would have to work really really hard at it to freak people out around here. As it is, with everything I do and my politics and all that, I am basically middle of the road leaning slightly conservative, for my area.

I've gotten flack for pretty much everything from someone.
I'd say I hear the most about extended breastfeeding and not vaccinating.

Around here almost everything "non-mainstream" is looked at as slightly loony. When i was looking into home birth, I had many, many people think I was a whack job. People around here are even shocked by NCB in a hospital, much less any other form of birthing.

I do have a small group of friends who are into the same stuff I am. I met them at a Babywearing meeting. So they are into similar type things. But overall, most of the AP-type choices I make are looked at as slightly strange. It sounds pretty much like the opposite of where Shen lives! Lol.

Oh yeah, I ate my placenta and people thought I was nuts. Same goes with bedsharing and still breastfeeding.

Uhm...everything. LOL. People think it was very odd that I breastfed Ash for 2 1/2 years, including during my pregnancy with Matthew. Cloth diapering is also odd, but people warm up to that pretty quick. Non-vax is very strange to people here. Babywearing is just thought of as cute..lol.
And no circ and bedsharing? VERY odd around here.
I gave up on people. I am not like most that live in this area, although there's a friend of mine that is pretty close. She babywears, breastfeeds and cloth diapers.

Apparently natural birth is at the top of the list, now. Before, who knows. Probably everything if more people actually knew me.
