You don't have to be or call yourself an Attachment Parent to visit the AP Board! The attachment parenting board is a great place for people to visit for any of the following reasons:

-Wanting Breastfeeding or Gentle Weaning Advice OR advice on Bonding while Bottle Feeding
-Looking for Baby Wearing Advice
-Looking for Gentle Discipline Advice (even those who don't currently use gentle or positive discipline might be able to get new and effective ideas on how to handle situations!)
-Looking for information on co-sleeping, bed sharing, or gentle nighttime parenting

I think the cool thing about the AP board is that even those who aren't AP can come here and find advice that would work with their current parenting style. For example, even a traditional parent might want to try not using CIO and might find that a better fit. Or a traditional parent who believes in spanking might still be open to effective ideas that DON'T involve resorting to that method. (I tend to think most parents wouldn't hurt their child if they believed there was a viable alternative!) So even if a mama isn't AP, she could come here and get advice and should be able to find tips and ideas that will work for them and their child.

Agreed - it's a unique kind of board for the fact that there's no pressure to follow every "rule" to the letter. Much better that way!

Gentle parenting is about guiding instead of controlling,
connecting instead of punishing,
and encouraging instead of demanding.
It's about listening, understanding, responding and communicating.
