Gentle parenting is about guiding instead of controlling,
connecting instead of punishing,
and encouraging instead of demanding.
It's about listening, understanding, responding and communicating.

I think it's not up to doctors or parents to choose what gender their child should be in situations like this. I think it should be left alone until the child is old enough to make a decision for themselves. Who's to say what gender they will feel like? It's horrible to just mutilate their body based on what YOU think they would be. So now what is the kid supposed to do? Go through another horrible surgery or live a life never completely feeling like he is supposed to? This makes me sad.

I totally agree. They should have left the baby be. 16 months and they decide what gender?...that does not seem right to me. But at the same time I also kinda understand how they maybe did not want the baby to grow up feeling "weird" or "different" but still. It should have not been up to the Dr's at all.

This is another topic that makes me say "The government has too much control over stuff." Because you know they had something to do with it. A Dr was not like "I think i'll do this" and then just started to do it. They had to get approval.

I hope his adoptive parents are good people who will help him get through this!
I can't even imagine how difficult that must be!
I hope that cases like this help such hasty decisions from being made for others in the future.

The parents seem well rounded so I think he will be ok. The Mom was very upset about this.
