Now that I home and things are starting to settle, I got around writing my birth story. I posted it here, if anyone is interested:

http://www.justmommies.com/forums/f1...l#post27456055 (Isabel Faith ~ Born at 33 weeks, 3lbs 11oz (pics added))

There are some pictures there, too.

I'm still recovering and my life right now revolves a bit around eating, resting, pumping milk, and visiting Isabel in the NICU. When I have free time, I try to catch up on work I am behind on from my extended hospital stay. But in between all that, I will try to come by here when I can--I could use the down time!

First off, your daughter truly is beautiful. She looks so peaceful. I hope she continues to thrive

That was a very intense birth story, I must say. I can't believe they didn't pick up the pre-eclampsia sooner! I'm sorry your birth wasn't what you wanted but I'm glad you got to deliver her as naturally as safety allowed

Me too. I had so many signs but my blood work and my blood pressures were fine until out of no where. I knew for a while it wasn't normal, though, and I should have been pushier about those feelings instead of letting everyone brush it off as just being part of pregnancy. This is why people need to trust their instincts! It wasn't the perfect birth, or anywhere near my best birth experience, obviously, BUT I am thankful I didn't need a c-section in the end and I try to focus on that because even that right there took a lot of luck in my favor to happen.

I am so glad you guys are doing well! That is such an intense story. You are right we really should trust our instincts and fight for them. Isabel is beautiful and I'm sure you will be able to take her home soon!

Wow! I am so sorry that you and your family had to go through all that Blood pressure issues, magnesium, and the stress of being in the hospital constantly waiting for that moment when they tell you time's up- it's time to deliver are so terrible. But I am so glad you are both doing well! And your daughter is so gorgeous! Congratulations
