Hello Ladies. I'm trying to figure out when I will need a pump and what kind I should get. After the baby is born I plan to breastfeed and be a SAHM. So I most likely won't need a pump right off the bat. I'm due the beginning of Feb. so it's the middle of winter and I probably won't be going out much. What are your opinions about if/when I would need a breast pump? Also, I've been reading online reviews. I've been comparing Medala & Ameda. It seems that Ameda is not only cheaper but when you get the backpack version, has a lot more accessories than Medala. Anyone have thoughts/opinions on these brands. One friend is using an Ameda and she really likes it. Just curious what you all think.
Thanks,
Brie

If you're going to be home most of the time, a good manual pump should be fine!

I have the AMeda Purely Yours and hardly ever use it - but it IS nice to have around! As a SAHM (and a student, I leave Grace 2x a week to take a class), I just don't need to pump.

I'm also a SAHM and very rarely need to pump. I use an Avent Isis manual pump and it works great for me. It's easy to use and I'm able to get a decent amount of milk when I need to. I think it cost around $40 and it was definitely worth it.
