WJAR-TVBOSTON - An infant who was snatched from his mother has been located in Malden.
A Boston police spokesman said the 19-day-old infant, Michael Steven Rauda, was snatched from his mother as she was walking on Bennington Street Monday morning.
Police sought the baby's father, Jose Lizama, 28, of Medfield, who also goes by the name Jose Granados. According to the Amber Alert, Jose Lizama fled in a 1998 White Crown Victoria. The car, Lizama and the baby were the subjects of a day-long search across the state.
Patrolman Jesus Montoya said officers spotted Lizama's empty vehicle around 6:30 p.m. on Lebanon Street. Lizama and the infant were found a short time later in the immediate area.
Police say the infant was unharmed.
Lizama is in custody at the Malden Police Department.
According to the Amber alert, Lizama fled in a freshly painted, white 1998 Ford Crown Victoria. Authorities also said there was information that cars may have been switched, and they were also looking for a red 1994 Subaru SVX.
