Oh yes, I saw some of the damage on the news this evening. It's amazing that the ice could be so beautiful and do so much harm. I hope those without power get it back soon!

As one of those caught in the midst of this storm let me tell you, it is so beautiful but so deadly. My whole family slept on our living room floor on Thursday night because the fear of a large tree that sits outside our bedroom windows. Fortunately it did not crash into our home, however many of the branches fell and caused damage to our patio table and our yard swing, both are ruined. I am one of the lucky ones, my power was only out for about 19 hours. My parents are still without power, this is the fourth night for them. This is horrible. I cannot imagine how people rebuild from nothing after mother nature takes a hit. We were displaced for one day and i felt lost and confused.

Wow, I'm glad that your home is okay (for the most part) and that your family is safe!

We went through this is 2001. I feel bad for all those without power and those who have had damage done to their homes. It is scary!

We live in Maine and were without power for just under 24 hours as well. We were very lucky that there was no real damage near the house and we're very happy to have the power back on. We lost it again for about an hour yesterday.

My parents are in Maine and they just got their power back last night around 7ish. CRAZY!! Luckily they have a wood stove and a generator so they were able to stay at their home.
