Roller Coaster Death

Carnivals scare me for this very reason. I don't worry about Disney World and Six Flags so much but carnivals make me nervous.

I read this and can't imagine what that momma and daddy must be going through. When the next door neighbor to property described hearing the momma wailing and the daddy holding her I could barely hold my sobs in

Christ, that's scary. We went to the yearly carnival here and DD was scared..... DH trying to calm her fears told her that the carnival hasn't had any accidents. The NEXT day, it's in the newspaper that the mini swings ride fell.. luckily no one was hurt... DH felt really bad.

While I feel bad for the family, it doesn't sound like the carnival is at fault here. The child climbed through the barriers and onto the rollercoaster. It is unfortunate, but the carnival did what they could. They had the barriers in place. It is not (and should not be) their responsibility to babysit.
