Now research being published in the Journal of Health Economics suggests the diagnosis may be overused and may be commonly applied in error to the youngest kids in class, who are simply acting their age.
Younger Kids In Class May Be Overdiagnosed With ADHD : Shots - Health News Blog : NPR

This does not surprise me at all.

Not surprised. However I do have one that does have it and the youngest son who doesn't but I have been told by people that he has ADHD. Nope he's a typical 4 year old who has lots of energy. One problem(IMHO) is more and more kids are becoming couch potato's, so when a Dr sees a normal active child they think it's abnormal.

Not suprised at all. I do have a child with ADHD, and he really has it. I believe it is mostly genetic. DH, my brother, my FIL and a few other males in both our familes have ADD/ADHD.
