MONDAY, Oct. 4 (HealthDay News) -- About 13 percent of parents with health insurance say they haven't gotten pediatrician-recommended care for their children due to costs, a new survey in Ohio finds.

Many Kids Not Getting Recommended Care: Survey

I may regret stepping into this discussion but we have private insurance and I will admit that I think twice about getting care for myself and my kids.

This quote I find annoying.

"The expansion of Medicaid will be enormously helpful," Rukavina said. "In 2014, the quality of insurance is going to be dramatically improved for most people."

It isn't going to improve my life one iota. I still won't qualify for medicaid and I will still have sucky insurance options.

When my kids were little, there were times when I would have to call the doctor and have to tell them over the phone what their symptoms were.
"I can afford the appointment or the medicine"
It was either/or sometimes. And they had pretty decent ins at that time, it just got to where it didn't cover enough.
