I think it's time to teach self-regulation. Not abstinence. Teens need to hear that abstinence is the ONLY way to prevent pregnancy in any time in their life, even when married! BUT, they also need to be given other options and make choices for themselves. If they make a wrong choice, they can own up to that choice. I do believe in abstinence to a point, because it's safest to prevent STD's as well as pregnancy, but if you don't teach ALL choices, then you're not giving a choice---something rebellious teenagers need so that they can feel that they have some power/control in their own life.
