Stories like that break my heart. I'm already planning on keeping Ben rear facing for as long as his carseat will allow (35lbs). Once he outgrows his current one I plan to get another 5 point one.
I will keep my child rear facing until age 1 which is appropriate in the USA. I work in the transportation field and do some research on child safety seats.

I am not going to watch that video. It's a scare tactic and I won't let myself get involved in that kind of thing.
The bottom line is bad things happen in a car seat/out of a car seat, with your seatbelt on/without your seatbelt on. If you want your child rearfacing until they are 35 then that is your business but if you turn them around the minute they turn one and 20lbs then that is your business too. No one should be posting videos just to try and scare you into believing what they believe.
