I was wondering how many people LOVE Walmart? (Just remembering a SNL about Walmart being SO BIG! It was hilarous but awhile ago. I think jennifer garner or natalie portman was the special guest... anyway that doesn't really matter!)

Do you shop at Walmart?

I love Wal-Mart. I can go get everything I need in one trip. I go at least 3-4 times a week.

Working full time and 2 small children, I will take all the help I can get making my life easier.

I cant stand Walmart. Nothing is ever in the right place and their staff is completely incompetent. I cant stand most of the people in Walmart either. Learn to steer your cart!

I shop at Wal-Mart all the time. Nice to get everything in one place. I love having all the variaty and cheap prices, but I always find myself complaining about the size of the store and all the people in my way. LOL.....but.. that doesn't keep me from shopping there in the least...

LOL! You are right!

I prefer Target actually. Walmart is cheaper on cleaning stuff but I just hate going there. I grocery shop at Kroger...I LOVE Kroger!

We don't have a Target, which is fine b/c I don't care much for Them. To me, they are overpriced.

As for K-Mart... I despise them!!! I rarely.... ever go in there.

To me Wal-Mart is cheaper and more convienant. You can also, get in and out w/ little waiting.

I can't say we've had a quick in and out time at Walmart! You should see my DH's reaction to someone say "can you pick that up at Walmart?" He slumps over, rolls his head, sighs, and then "can't we go anywhere but there?" (It's the same for Superstore!)

I try to avoid Wal-Mart because they are big Republican donors. Sometimes I can't afford the local stores and I break down and go to the Wal-Mart, but it's a last resort!

I really like Wal-Mart but my new favorite is Target - they have a Starbucks in it.

Love the prices.

Love that I can get everything in one stop.

Hate the long lines.

Hate most of the non-helpful employees.

I've been trying to go in this direction for lots of reasons, like the equal pay dispute, but thought I'd start this out in fluffy stuff to see if it would go anywhere! (I could always get it transferred to hot topic later!)

Unfortunatly I have gone to Walmart because... gulp... it's just more convenient and cheaper...

*whispering quietly because I'm not supposed to do this*
I don't shop there, here's why...
They are going to be the demise of this country. All the companies that have merchandise have to outsource because Walmart demands lower prices. That's why there's always new gadgets (like the spinning dish scrubber for example). What happens is, a company comes out with a new gadget and they get to set the price that Walmart sells it for. Then after it's been out for a while, walmart puts pressure on them to either sell it lower or they won't sell any of their products. So they come up with a new product to compensate. I have an article about this somewhere.

Take Huffy bikes for example, they had to give their plans away to competing companies so they could meet the demands of walmart and they still almost went under.
Levi's, same thing.

Company after company has almost bankrupted itself to get low prices.

Here's a classic example of what is happening: I live in a city ("B") that has a conjoining sister city ("T"). City T has a walmart that was thriving, Walmart has a policy that if a store makes $1 million they build another one so city B got a new superwalmart. So now 2 superwalmarts serve the same area. Do you know what happened? They spent a lot of money on a new building that is currently running in the red and now the first store is struggling to keep sales because a third store 20 miles away was just built.
Either the will eat themselves out of business or we become a nation dependent on Walmart who gets their products from other countries.

Anyways, if anyone is interested in the article let me know and I'll take the time to dig it out. There were several CEO's that were interviewed for it (I think Valasic pickles, Huffy bikes and Levi Jeans)

*I'll stop whispering now*

edited: forgot to actually answer the original question and spelling

I'm not too much into the corporate world and I don't really keep up with how products are sold and such. All I look for is low prices and high quality. Wal-mart, IMO, has that. I don't JUST shop at Wal-mart, but I do go there a lot for most things. In Charlotte there are at least 5 Wal-marts so 1 is always close by.

I would not be caught dead in a Wal-Mart. Yes, the lines and the crazy shopping cart people suck, but I won't shop there because they are evil!! There is the fair wage issue, the fact that their employees can't get healthcare and they teach them to get on welfare, the fact that they destroy small towns and businesses, predatory economics etc etc. For those of you who are aware enough to shop places where you support their business practices check out buyblue.org.
Oh, by the way, Heinz makes condiments, yes they may be very "Right" but they don't destroy lives like Wal-Mart does.
Personally I try not to shop at Target either. I prefer to spend my money in smaller businesses and support my local economy.
