Since having our son we've been "told" we'll get a refund this year. We haven't done our taxes yet though to know how much. We need to save, however some MAJOR home repairs need to be done with this year's refund. We need a back door on the house (the dogs pretty much tore the other one off the hinges this summer), a FLOOR in the laundry room (yeah...scary), a new shower floor (ours is cracked...I'm waiting for either Dh or me to fall through some morning!). And my car needs repairs before we can sell it.

<sigh>

We should be getting a refund, plus the child tax credit and EIC. I hope it's a good amount, we desperately need a 2nd car, even if it's a crappy one! I will stop by your board some time...

ETA: Your post almost sounds like a bank commercial!!

Reason #44 that I will never have a dog.

yup, we are paying off all of our CC debt and part of our car. We have Credit inform and they ran the scenario for us, it will raise Chris's Credit Score by 36 points

We got about 4500 last year, will prolly have around the same, maybe a tiny bit more this year. We have plans for it. A second car, a new dryer (my is throwing sparks!), a dishwasher, a few bills need caught up on, a few piddly things for us and MUCHO fun stuff for the kids, as usual!

Yup.. we should be getting a pretty large amount this year.. EIC, a newborn tax credit, a child tax credit for my son.. And DH over paid into federal because he got a re-enlistment bonus for the military.. I also plan on claiming some of my dental work Ive had to fork over obscene amounts of money for.. All of it regardless of the amount is spent.. Going to pay off some of the car, some of another loan we have(for my teeth), the balance to my dentist, pay some to a CC we have, and DH and I are keeping $500 a piece to do with as we please.. It will probably get spent on the kids lol

I don't do my taxes.. Dh does because he loves it. (Strange, I know.) I usually get something back.

Your DH sounds like me. I love doing taxes; it's fun. Of course, it takes me all of 5 minutes.

We're getting the biggest refund I've ever had. It sure pays to have a baby sometimes. We'll save most of it though. But things I know we're using the money for are fixing the A/C in the car (it's Florida and we have no A/C!!), getting a digital camera, and paying off some medical bills. And maybe a tattoo for me -- him too if he's not afraid.
