I just saw that your hubby was in the senate! (NOW I know how you met Dubya!) What does he do in the senate?

My grandfather was state senator of Indiana, in the House of Representatives(dunno if that's a given -being a senator), and was a federal mediator to Nixon--in government over 20 years.

My great grandfather was state senator of Indiana for 2 terms.

My great great grandfather was in Congress(House of Representatives).

And my father was a dope.

That is all . The political-ness must have skipped me.

Wow, I have never had a thread dedicated to me before! DH actually left the senate a few months ago, right around when the Republicans lost the majority. He worked for the committee chair for the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions committee. He wrote education policy. And if I can brag on him for just a minute, I have to add that he was in the #2 position for the whole Senate for education. (I'm just a little proud of him, can you tell?) Since he worked for the majority chairman (who is now in the minority), his job would have changed a lot, and he would have had to answer to Kennedy's people - we wouldn't want that! He now does private consulting on education issues and is working in a firm with the former Secretary of Education.

Laura, that is so cool about your grandpas! Will you pm me their names? I want to read all about them!

Uh, I'm not so sure about that. You seem pretty passionate about politics to me!

LOL I am getting more and more political. Maybe one day I'll run for president(since we all know I'd vote for a female )!! My cousin is actually something in government as well. She worked at the US Embassy in Moscow for years.
