Lurking :). Dove shampoo and conditioner did the same so me. Was your hair with baby shampoo (that strips it of all build up) then when you do wash and condition only condition the bottom half of your hair dont get it on your scalp. Also, a quick fix for greesy hair is to put in some baby powder. Good luck.

People with oily hair tend to over wash their hair, exacerbating the problem. Shampoo has really harsh chemicals that strip your hair and scalp of natural oils, so your bodies natural response is to produce more oil!

I would recommend completely ditching shampoo. Washing (physically washing your hair) with condition is sufficient and, although I don't now, I did this for many years and had hair that was shinier and less oily then when I used shampoo. My hair would also stay fresher for longer.

That could work too . I used to wash my hair every 3 days so maybe if I tried that again it will balance out . Thank you Both !!! :)

Many people face such kind of problems nowadays and according to me the main reason for such kind of problems is use of low quality and chemical used hair care products. So always use quality product and also in minimal way.

Stop using the conditioner for a week. And your hair will become less greasy!

Re: Hair help please !!!

i use baking soda once a week with my shampoo. as woman, we tend to overload our hair with product and if you're like me and already have crazy-greasy hair to begin with, it can turn a bad situation worse. basically once a week or so, i pour a regular amount of shampoo into the palm of my hand, and i add about a tablespoon of Arm & Hammer. and it works.

that same time i do that, i also do a conditioning treatment so not only is my hair manageable, but totally soft. only do that once or twice a week though. i frickin' love baking soda!

how are you conditioning? in reality, your roots don't need conditioner, they use the natural oils from your skin. so adding conditioner to that will make your hair greasier, faster. only the ends should be conditioned.

avoid too much product on the roots if you can. same sort of concept where it can make it look like you haven't shampooed in days when it's only been about 8 hours.

hope it all helps!

i also agree that baby shampoo is best for hair. it make hair smooth and soft. coconut oil and olive oil is best. apply it at night and massage in circles..wash in morning and must trimming your hair after 6 month.

If all else fails, try a dry shampoo. I've found they work wonders on my greasy days.

To avoid this problem you can use a simple remedy that is a combination of gram flour and yogurt. Apply this mixture on your head before washing for 20-30 minutes. This will definitely help to remove all the grease from your hair as well as condition them.

Try the satinique shampoo, that is good for hairs. My hairs were very thin before using that, now they are quite good.

You need to get a clarifying shampoo and this will take all the dirt and oils out of your hair then use a shampoo for your hair type or a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner after you use the clarifying shampoo.

My experience has been different. I see this post is several years old so I hope you have found a resolution by now but in case you haven't here is my two cents.

First, it's very common for women to have to have different hair and body regimens during cold weather and warmer weather. It could very well be winter weather/temperature that has made your current regimen ineffective.

Second, based on my years of personal experience with my own hair and body, when you remove more oil your body will compensate by creating more oil. As hard as it is you may want to not wash your hair with anything more than warm water for a couple of days and let your body acclimate and decrease it's natural oil production. Also look at whatever else you put in your hair or do to your hair. Things like blow drying and even hats can impact how your hair and scalp looks and feels and how your body responds (IE: increasing oil production due to winter drying out your scalp).

Re: Hair help please !!!

I'm a greasy oily head and i only shampoo once a week in the cold weather, but I do go twice a week or more in summer.
Anyway my winter routine, really, is just to make the greasiness look deliberate. I get oily by Day 2, and while I can use some dry shampoos, loose powders generally working better than sprays, by Day 3 the dry shampoo gives up and quits. So after many trials and tears I just gave up as well, my hair is as oily as fast food fried chicken. So I started oiling the length, since my natural hair oil never got down past my neck, so everything below the ears i would just soak in coconut oil. Soak the coconut oil in until the ends matched the roots in looking like the french fries greasepan was dumped on my head. The good thing about oily hair is how shiny it is. So when I pull my shiny oily hair back into my tiny nubbin of a bun (my bubbin?) it looks like I just gelled my hair into a mirror shine modern "businesslike" A side part helps too. I also put some hairspray on my palms and skim my hands over the top and sides of my head. My hair is so oily the hairspray doesn't hurt it, and if anyone does touch my hair (which is rare but has happened) they feel the hairspray stiffness and really believe my hair is clean and just gelled and sprayed to oblivion.
And my oily bubbin doesn't care how many times I put on or take off my winter hats.
