Low progesterone

Anyone else have low progesterone? I had it with my last pregnancy and again this time. It was 7.2 (I think anything under 15 is considered low) so I'm taking oral progesterone. These pills are making me so stinkin' sleepy!!

Mine was 18.7 so not really low but one of the Dr's that mine talked to said they wanted it higher so I am taking progesterone capsules but they are having me insert them vaginally. They say is works better if you put them in vaginally. I have been on progesterone with both of my other pregnancies too. Everytime they make me put them in vaginally.

I've never had any problems. Do they test your progesterone level during the early blood work they do or do they only test if they suspect problems?

Re: Low progesterone

The only reason they tested my progesterone last time is because I had a little spotting.

Re: Low progesterone

I just found out yesterday that mine was 14.46 which my dr said was lower than he liked to see so they put my on progesterone supplements. I'm taking them orally. Dr didn't say anything about using them vaginally. Guess I will ask him about that.

I don't know what my numbers are, but I'm taking it too. Mine are the vaginal suppositories, I use it right before I go to bed.

I don't think they usually check it unless there's reason to suspect a problem. So for those saying they don't know there's, it's probably fine. :)

I just don't know what my numbers are because I didn't ask, but I know it was low enough for concern.

Re: Low progesterone

I suffered from low progesterone with my last pregnancy so they put me on oral progesterone, but I miscarried at 9 weeks. :( This time they they put me on Crinone gel progesterone suppositories and my progesterone was greater than 40 for my last two blood draws.
