What books did you read before, during or after pregnancy? Do you think they helped prepare you for baby?

Ina May, Natural Childbirth, and a bunch of others my midwife gave me. None of it helped once I was in labor. Research I've done online helped once baby was here more than any books. I stray from traditional parenting books though.

Re: Books?
Actually...the only books I think I've read are my textbooks.
My major is Human Dietetics and as a result, I had to take a Maternity and Child Nutrition class.

I don't plan on reading parenting books or really any of the 'What to Expect' books.
My SO wants to jump into a book pile, so I'll leave him to that.

Re: Books?
What to Expect When You're Expecting is a godsend. i also picked up some books on breastfeeding, and recently Mayo Clinic put out a good book about pregnancy.
