Following Chelsea's lead and re-joining...

I posted here a few times but haven't been active. My son is 22 months old and weighs 18lbs. He hasn't gained in almost two months. His diet consists of pretty much just Pediasure as he doesn't eat solids. Right now we are in the process of looking into an "intensive feeding program" where they will monitor him 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for 4 weeks and ideally teach him how to eat.

Does anyone else have a LO that absolutely will not swallow their food? Blaise chews up anything you give him but spits it out. His feeding therapist thinks it is a result of the fact that up until he was a year and a half anything he ate caused him to gag/throw up...and now he has correlated the two.

I haven't been on here in forever either. This sounds exactly like my daughter. She's gaining now but only because of the feeding tube. She will eat only a few things, and even then it's a minuscule amount.
Her feeding therapist said pretty much the same thing, and she would have to just re-learn, but the more we push the more she resist.
Can you tell me more about this intensive feeding program? I wonder why my doctors have never mentioned it?

I think there aren't programs everywhere...we just happen to have one a few hours from our house. I honestly don't know a whole lot about it yet...just that it's 4 weeks, 8 hours a day and it's basically a last resort for children that don't eat. Here's the website for the one my son may be going to: Happy Mealtimes: An Intensive Feeding Program

Thanks. That sounds like an awesome thing for my daughter. What's ironic is that we used to go to All Children's when her feeding problems started. Now we are in Texas, but I will definitely discuss this with her GI.
