New to GD- question about levels being too low?

Hi Ladies!

I found out I had GD last week, I failed the one hour test with a level of 200...

I started testing Thursday night and have been in the high 70s low 80 for most of the my readings, with the exception of the morning readings which are usually low 70s high 60s... I have only been testing for a few days, and have left a message for the Dr- but are my levels too low? Basically i have found a menu that keeps my levels under 120 and i have been eating it since. I am waiting for the diabetic educator to call me to make an appt... till then i want some reassurance... Any thougths?

thank you for the help!!

I think 60's are probably too low other than that your scores sound perfect...becareful you aren't eating too little or too few carbs for the baby he or she still needs these. I started out going way too low in amount of food and and carbs because I thought the main goal was to keep numbers down, feel much better now that I know me and baby are getting what is needed even if numbers aren't always perfect. I was told should be under 100 in morning and 120 two hours after each meal.....good luck

Re: New to GD- question about levels being too low?

I was told by my GD nurse that if my levels are low, to eat something with sugar. Example, 175ml of soda, 7 life savers..... If your levels are too high, you obviously eliminate the sugar. So it is the opposite when it's too low.
