My favorite thing is having land, and being able to do with it whatever we want to, and no one is going to throw a fit about it, or fine us, or complain to a stupid home owners association, things like that.

I also like that I can have as many chickens as I want to, even roosters, and I can have them free range - even on to our neighbor's property (with their permission) - and no one will complain.

I love that I can walk outside and I don't hear cars, or people, or any of the typical "city" noises I grew up with. All I hear are bugs, chickens, frogs, and other nature sounds. Sometimes I don't even hear anything (especially in the winter) and I LOVE it!!

We are not offgrid/homesteading right now. We're in the process of buying land so that we CAN do this.

The house we live at right now is w/ some friends, they had chickens and ducks but the city made them get rid of them about a month ago because they have just barely under 1 acre and that breaks the rules *eye roll*

my WELL my water is so yummy, and clean and with no floride. Of course there is also the fun of well breaks, frozen lines, and an particular gruesome end for a fat frog and our relay switch.
