If so, how big is your garden?
Well, we have several beds around the yard and some pots, etc. We have one 10x10 bed; 2 15x2 beds; 1 25x4 bed; and a bunch of huge pots with stuff that grows on the deck.
I'm working on making a small window farm out of soda bottles my parents saved up for me and we have some pots in the house as well.
We have plans to make two more 10x10 beds plus another 15x2 bed plus tires for strawberry beds and I want to expand my medicinal herb garden.
What foods do you grow?
Typical stuff - tomatoes (a bunch of different types), bell and cayenne peppers, onions, garlic, lettuce/spinach/kale, summer squash, zucchini, asparagus, herbs (culinary and medicinal), radishes, carrots, pumpkin, cucumbers, melons, berries, sunflowers, ginger, beans, peas, a little corn, eggplant, pecans, potatoes (sweet and white), and muscadines.
Gonna add some cauliflower, brocolli, brussel sprouts, strawberries, figs, and something else next year. I'm sure I'm forgetting some things
What is the best crop for you every year?
Tomatoes, summer squash, zucchini, herbs, garlic, lettuce, blackberries
Do you can the food you grow?
Yes ma'am! I have done all sorts of tomato based canning - sauces, stewed, relish, paste. Pickles - sweet and dill. Monkey butter. Applesauce. Apple butter (my newest). Strawberry and blackberry jam, cheese, and syrups. I also dehydrate everything and can the dehydrated pieces. I'm getting a pressure canner and I'll be canning all sorts of things plus meat! (which is really why I want the pressure canner)
