What animals do you have or plan to have?

What purpose will they serve? Meat, milk, protection, etc?

Do you have any experience in the past with livestock?

Right now we have none!
We want to get a cow or goat, probably a goat..
We have experience with chickens and ducks but that's it!

We would use the animals for food (eggs, dairy & meat)

We currently have 2 hens and 6 chicks.

In the past we have had goats, rabbits, ducks, geese, and pigs.

We'd like a cow but may settle for a goat.

we just have 2 goats right now....we want to get more...and chickens and ducks...we do have a pig that is for slaughter...ummmm i have been trying to convince dh to get a steer...he is not going for it so i might have to talk to my neighbors about going half in with them since they plan to get one haha...dh wants sheep...

We have cows to kill for meat and chickens for eggs. We would like to fatten up a pig for meat, but they are soooo messy so not sure if that will happen. We have had sheep for meat as well, but they are hard to look after so we are just sticking too cows for the larger animals at the moment.

I grew up on a dairy farm that turned to horticulture when I was young, and my grandparents have a beef farm so I guess it's in the blood, lol!

We have chickens and ducks so far. They are for eggs (to sell, we don't like the flavor *blush*) and entertainment. They also give me something to do.

I would like to eventually get a cow for milk and to breed for meat. I would love to get goats but they are SO destructive and DH has already said he refuses to drink goat milk. *grumble*

both me and my boyfriend were raised on ranches. now that we are on our own we bought seven cows to get started. Our cows calved out in May we plan to hold one back for meat, and sell the rest of them at stock yard. We have 9 horses, wich we rope on. no chicken yet maybe when we are more settled.

We have ... chickens, doves, cats, and a flock of ducks that hang out in our pond.
I'm planning on rabbits and tilapia - in that order next.
Once we get some "real" land of our own we'll get dogs, goats, cattle, horses, and maybe a hog or two and a possibility of sheep. And dh would like to get some ducks - as we won't be taking these ducks with us when we move.

Doves - pets
Cats - pets
Rabbits - meat
Tilapia - meat and hydroponics
Dogs - pets and protection
Horses - pets/ride
Sheep - wool
Goats - weeds/clearing - maybe milk for soaps
Cattle - meat - maybe butter - we're a dairy free household right now due to allergies but I've heard that raw milk and the butter, etc is different on the system than the pasteurized stuff so we'll see
Hogs - meat
Ducks - eggs and meat

Do you have any experience in the past with livestock?
Me - just from my grandparents' farm and that's not much experience at all.
