How do you diet?
 
No, really... I don't know how to go on a diet. Never done it before.

well, the basics of weight loss is calories in must be less than calories out. A really great site for calorie counting is FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal oooohhh and Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, Food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate

You go there, put in your weight, height and general info, and it tells you how many calories you need to stay at your current weight. then it will drop 200-500 from that (depending on how much weight you have to lose) and it will also give you a sample meal plan. if you dont want to use that then there is a huge database of almost every food that is already calorie counted. Its annoying looking for things the first time, but if its something you eat regularly it saves it so its just one click the second time.
Go check it out, they're both really good. and free!!!

it also gives ideas for exercise, which is a huge factor in weight loss, but you prob know that!

Thanks, Robyn! I've seen the Daily Plate before, just didn't stick with it. Wow, it says I can get 2,479 cals/day and loose a pound a week. That's a lot!

I love to exercise... hate, hate, HATE trying to diet by counting calories, etc. One of my goals for this month was to keep a food journal. It's just such a pain trying to remember to record what I eat and especially tricky trying to measure/estimate how much. I do pretty well as far as *what* I eat... my problem is how much.

jennifer, i have the same problem. in general i eat pretty well (excluding the past two weeks!!!) but i just eat too much of it. my biggest down fall is the carb portion. I know its too big, but i just cant make myself dish out a smaller portion. this week i am gonna serve a salad with my meal and half my pasta/rice/potato portion. i've also rebooted my dailyplate account. i gotta get back into control!
