Is this reason enough to request a 24hr urine?

I went into the clinic on Saturday due to some flank pain in my back on the right side and in my upper abdomen. My pre-preg BP was 80/60 and has been around that for my last several appointments. When they did my bp it was 115-120/75. I know thats not a huge jump but its a jump for me. Is that significant enough along with the pain to request a 24hr urine? I've also been having some headaches and nausea but nothing *too* bad on that front yet.

I would request it. While those numbers would be considered "awesome" for most people, for you, they are elevated. It should be no skin off your doctor's nose to let you do one. Hope your results come back ok. I did one 2 weeks ago for bp that jumped 30 points in one week's time. Fortunately, the results were normal...

You could also request full blood labs...they did that for me as well to check uric acid and platelets. Also, because of the upper abdominal pain, I would think they should take you seriously...

I think your numbers look pretty good. But it can't hurt, so I would go ahead and ask. My doctor actually had me do one as soon as I got pregnant just so they would have a baseline.

better to be on the safe side, imo.. I would ask for it! Better to find out that everything is fine after doing the test, than to not have it done & then something serious happen..
