I am 5 weeks 5 days today, which makes my due date May 27 2014. I have been to the ER 3x this week for various levels of spotting. Monday I went because it was thick and brown. Wednesday I went because then it was pink. Friday I went because it was bright red and soaking my underwear. They did an ultrasound and told me the gestational sack was where it needed to be, and all of that looked good. They labeled it a "threatened miscarriage"...does not mean I will, but I am more at risk.
Ironically that morning I went to get labs done and requested they run my blood for progesterone. I got a call 2 hours later from my OB's nurse telling me YES it's low, at a 6 and we like to see it between 12 and 15. They sent in a scrip for Progesterone 200mg pills. Low progesterone is apparently pretty common. This too may be the reason for the bleeding. This is the second day, and already the bleeding has become light brown spotting. I am also on pelvic rest this weekend, and am a teacher and have been told to sit while I teach.
PS I am taking the tablets vaginally, as they are the absorbent soft gels.
I was wondering if there were any Mommies who have had a similar experience who could share a bit of a success story with me? I am praying and hopeful that we caught it in time.

Re: Low Progesterone
I took progesterone pills (orally, but I think they are the same as yours, mine were yellow) for the first 13 weeks of my pregnancy, my son made it here safely and is now an active happy three year old. He's currently singing the ABCs to himself in bed, he sings to himself when he can't sleep.
Re: Low Progesterone
I took sopositories all through my pregnancy with my daughter. It is in fact very common so do not worry. Just make sure you take them and all should be fine. My daughter is now 7 :)
