How to get my hubby on board

Hi everyone. I am new to the Home Birth world and had a few questions. My hubby and I are WTT for baby #4. All three of my previous children were born in a hospital. Two of my experiences were good and one was just awful. My last labor and delivery was pretty much done at home. I reached the hospital just in time to have my daughter not even 30 minutes later. The fact that 99% of my laboring was done at home got me to thinking about having any future children in the comfort of my own home. Now, my question is this: How do I get my hubby on board with the whole idea of a home birth? He is one of those types to go see a doctor for the sniffles so I know for a fact that I am going to be hit with resistance when I mention to him that our next baby could be born in our bed...on purpose. lol. Where would you guys recommend I go to find the best supportive documents to help ease him into this?

At the top of this board there is a sticky "Convincing DH" That is probably a good start. Otherwise, I'm not sure, DH just agreed with me, no convincing necessary!

Having him attend a consultation with you to interview the midwife is hugely beneficial at easing any fears! Take a thorough list of questions, such as these - Questions to ask a midwife - Beautiful Belly Laughs Midwifery Plus anything else he may be wondering. I think a lot of people, including dads, don't realize how much training a midwife has had, and how many safety precautions they take, and equipment they have on hand, etc.. I have found a LOT of dads totally relax into the idea all on their own, once they know their wife is in good hands. ;)
