I just sneezed and couldn't cross my legs because of the way I was sitting - I peed myself
So in honor of that, what is your most embarrassing pregnant or in labor moment?

abigailsilva December 6th, 2006 08:04 PM

um, ok, i have gas REALLY bad since becoming Pg. So basically i just let loose at home, yes i'm sorry if ya'll think that is gross, but screw DH, he does it! So anyway, I was at the park the other day with DH and DD and I was standing at one side of the playground watching DD and I just totally forgot where I was and LET ONE RIP! It was loud too....and I look to my right and there's this cute little soccer mom standing next to me.......god I was so embarassed. I mumbled something about being pg and practically ran away.

Ive peed myself a lot this time around too LOL

I popped in labour,it was not embarassing as I thought it would be,at the time that was the last thing on my mind.I also fell of the bed in labour and had to be caught by two midwifes because I refused to lay on the bed and not move around.Another reason for a homebirth huh?

Thought I'd drop back in here real quick. I haven't been able to post much anywhere I've been super busy! Anyways...

When I was pregnant with Lucas I seriously broke a chair. Heh... I was soo embarrassed until I found out it was already broken to begin with! I was like "I didn't think I gained THAT much weight."

Wow I guess I got off easy. I never peed, pooped, or gassed anyone. The embarrasing thing for me was nonstop m/s the whole way through. I'd be walking through a parking lot and just hurl without missing a beat. I even had a police officer question me before I started showing. She thought I was drunk. LOL. The other thing I hated was I carried so low even maternity pants and skirts would droop down until i thought the world would get a peep show. :P

abigailsilva December 11th, 2006 02:34 PM

Oh that's funny! I have the peep show thing happening here as well! Wow, preggo projectile vomiting, that's pretty impressive, yikes!

sara~b December 11th, 2006 07:20 PM

Yeah the whole m/s thing just about killed me. It got to the point that I could vomit while walking and not get it on myself or miss a step. I worked at Wal-Mart at the time and my manager would put me on the register closest to the bathroom. I'd just turn out my light, run to the bathroom, throw up, and come back to my register. It was a vicious cycle. At least now I know if that happens with my next one I can ask for some medicine to help keep it to a minimum. I really should have sued my last doc. He doesn't deserve the title doctor. :angry2:

abigailsilva December 11th, 2006 07:23 PM

jeez! i guess not!

sara~b December 13th, 2006 12:34 PM

Well I threw up my whole pg and was never offered medication to help. Around 34 weeks I swelled up really bad and started having signs of pre-eclampsia and you know what he told me? Eat more eggs! What a jerk! I found out after I had DD that another girl I know had him as an OB. She had all the signs of Pre-E and HELLP but by the time he got off his butt long enough to check her out it was too late and her baby was stillborn. :angry2: That doctor really shouldn't be in practice. As if it's not miserable enough just to be uncomfortable he just lets serious danger signs go until its a grim situation, and the worst part is he does all his work for medicaid so its mostly young, uneducated mothers that don't know any better so they trust him. :(

Unfortunately I've had medicine for M/S - mine was tough too though it stopped around the third or fourth week of my second trimester. I was given something with a Z (zolfran maybe?) and phenergen. Neither one worked for me and I still lost about 30 pounds, but they did help my sister so I think it depends on how tough your case is.

abigailsilva December 13th, 2006 06:51 PM

Yikes! I was lucky enough to avoid the vomiting...although i would have LOVED to once in a while, at least then the nausea abates for a few minutes...I was sick to my stomach for four months and worked in a DELI with a HOTBAR, ew i want to puke just thinking about it.....

I was 7 months pregnant and at work. A patient was standing in the hall and started to faint. I tried to catch him, but he weighed too much and we both fell. I hurt my back pretty bad, and still have problems, but the patient was fine. How embarrassing though! My boss felt horrible and fired the nurse who should have walked the patient to the desk. He had just had an injection or something.
