I've heard that the begining of labor happens most often at night after everything is settled. It's also said that you are more likely to go into labor on the full moon?

I'm "due" the 7th. The full moon is on the 2nd....we'll see...but as far as when I am certain that it will be at night. Ever since the birth of my daughter I am unable to relax while she's awake, no deep breaths ya know? So i don't see anyway that my body coudl go into labor while she was up.

What about you ladies????

Mine putzed and dwindled & fizzled all day every day, and then would completely fizzle out at night.

Then - the day i went into labor they were 40 mins apart all day, picking up around 5 - 7 pm, and then coming closer & closer together by 9 pm. At 10:30 I was settling into no fooling labor, enough that It took all my concentration by midnight-ish. I gave birth at 2:56 am :)

Fritz - Was due 7/1, went into labor 10 pm 7/10 (he was born 8:30 am 7/11), full moon

I'd like a nice night labor - give birth sometime during the early part of the day while everyone is at work and then people can stop by afterwards before they have to get on with whateer they had planned for that evening. That would be lovely!

But I'll let you know how everything goes when the time comes!

Gemma was due 3/10 but on 3/13 I went for an NST and it picked up cx so they did a check and I was 3 cm. I hadn't felt a thing so I have no idea when I went into labor. The next day I was still feeling nothing so I went in just to satisfy my curiosity and I was 5 cm. That was around noon and I had her at 5:53 PM just in time to get dinner!

With Brandon, my water broke out of the blue, no contractions or anything, on March 10th around 7pm, was born March 11th at 11:44am.

With Edward, I woke up with contractions that I couldn't sleep through around midnight on July 10th, and he was born on July 10th at 10:21am.

With Trupie my water broke at 1:40pm on 9/9. Grr...stupid doctors induced my labor and he was born at 4:04am 9/10.

With Ele I woke up to pee at 3:38am 8/13 and had a MONDO contraction. She was born at home at 7:55am 8/13.

Kaitlyn Due Feb 17.
Went into labour on Jan 21 at 11:45 pm (I was labouring before that but it just felt like a back ache.. nothng more) When my water broke... was at the hospital by midnight.. had kaitlyn at 2:12 am (NO DRUGS!)

Ella Due March 18
Went into labour on Feb 21 during Kaitlyn's Speech Therapy session... I was very uncomfotable but the contractions were 20 minutes apart.. and i had my doctor's appoint right after and it was a half a block away. Got to the doctor's 45 minutes later and tell the nurse that since the 18th (the saturday before) that i had be having small but noticable contractions. So she has the doctor check me.. i was 3 cm. THen says I can go to the hospital to see if things were going to start if i wanted but that many women don't go into labour for weeks even at 3 cm. So i go to the hospital which is 2 blocks away from where i was.. but i called my hubby and told himt hat i was heading that way and to meet me there.. then called my dad so he could come get kaitlyn from me... and he drove me over..lol

Nothing happend so i went home... things didn't really pick up til about 9:30 pm.. but there was NO WAY IN GOD's GREEN EARTH that i was going to leave while american Idol was still on. My friend Crystal came over because it was supposed to be my baby shower dinner.. but it got cancelled because i was in labour..lol so adter American Idol was over my contractions were 4 minutes apart and we headed to the hospital again while Crystal stayed with kaitlyn.

I got to the hospital at about 10:30 pm and I had Ella at 1:58 am

I guess i have early morning babies!!

I went into labour early morning with all three too.

My first was born at 39 weeks plus 5.

My 2nd at 38 weeks and my 3rd was 8 days past EDD.

This time I have no idea,3 days "overdue" and starting to think she is going to be very late.

Not too bad actually. It is funny because now I am overdue people have stopped asking me if I am in labour everytime I call LOL two weeks ago I was getting the phone calls and when I rang anyone the first thing they asked me is if I am in labour now it is like they have all giving up on it LOL it is odd.

I am very uncomfy,my belly is huge,I am constipated and now have a throat infection but despite all that I am plodding a long (pun intended) quite nicely.I see my midwife tomorrow,I have the boys school plays and parties all week so have a lot to keep me busy :)

I have never been scared to give birth before but this time I am :frown: I am so scared it is going to be even quicker then my last ones and end up giving birth unassisted.I think we would both just panic if that were to happen.

You would be JUST fine! If it were me, i would read up on UC just in case, so that I would feel prepared. Fear should not be a part of your labor.

Frelle December 12th, 2006 07:12 PM

I had Grace on a full moon after a thunderstorm (barometric pressure drop may give you a nigt of contractions and get you to 3 or 4 cm, or you may go into labor if due/overdue), Lily not related to storm or full moon, and Felicity not related to storm or full moon.

Went into labor with Grace at 430 am, had her at 8:06 pm, 19 days early. Went into labor with Lily at 3:45 pm, had her at 7:35 pm, 1 day early. Went into labor with Felicity at 4:50 am, had her at 6:06 am, 4 days early.

Samu honey, don't be afraid!! That could be what's stopping your labor right now! Unassisted birth is nothing to be frightened of even if it's not what you're hoping for! I know by instinct and by history that you can give birth to babies and I'm sure that if you were to go into labor and your midwife couldn't make it in time that you would have the intuitive knowledge to get that baby out safe and healthy!

You can do it!!!
