I like my MW, but I wasn't sure if i really wanted her there to be honest, I thought I would UC next time, but after the fact, I am so in love with her! She was perfect, and I wouldn't do it without her, I also feel that way about the assistant, who was basically my Doula, those women were amazing. I never felt like that towards the doc from my first medicated hospital birth. Do you guys feel crazy close to the people who helped you in birth as well? Husbands, family members, etc?

Yep! It has to do with that big gush of oxytocin after the birth :D

In most medicated births, theyre given a dose of pitocin, which stops your bodies natural release of oxytocin, and pitocin doesnt have the same brain effect as natural oxytocin - oxytocin is the "love" hormone :D Its whats released when we have an orgasm, its what is released when we feel those feelings of love :)

So there ya go! lol

well... lol I was already pretty fond of my birth attendant, now we're just that much closer
Its funny because I didn't want anyone with me either, but in retrospect I'm glad that she was there.

I felt nothing but hostility towards the on-call doc/nurses whocared for me/delivered Trupie. Except the one nice one. But golly, my husband was just freakin marvelous during Ele's labor/birth! If we have a next time, I want it to be just him and I...I liked having my mom there ok enough, but I want it to be just us two (well, three) if there is a next time.
