Our first day...

of workboxes (aka "activity boxes") went great! The girls couldn't wait to see what was in the next box  I put little notes with pictures in the boxes for some activities (like playing with blocks and water play outside) and others were workbook type things (some tracing activities and a couple of coloring pages). I couldn't believe that the girls actually sat and played with blocks of over an hour! They never play with them that long...but call it "school" and they were all about it :P We did the boxes on Friday and today they were upset because the boxes were empty ... I promised them we'd do them again on Monday

Tooooo funny! I think the hardest part of doing workboxes is constantly having to think ahead so that you don't run out of new ideas. Finding the same blocks day after day will get boring. That's why I was never really able to do the workboxes at the preschool level. Because my background is high school, I just don't think that way. I like curricula, because it's all laid out for you in book form.

Kudos to you! It works GREAT when you take the time to make it work! :cheer:

Sounds like they had a great time!

Cassie is a lot the same way...call doing chores or old toys 'school' and she's mesmerized :p

LOL I'm the opposite, I started out teaching preschool (and was sad when I had to move to 3rd graders). I am worried about when they are older because I know NOTHING about teaching middle schoolers! I plan on taking it one year at a time though LOL
