Gender-Neutral Nursery Ideas

How can I plan a nursery that's not pink or blue? I'm thinking of themes like Winnie the Pooh, Sesame Street and jungle animals.

Thx!

Hi!

I've seen a lot of really great neutral rooms. :)

Here are some examples. In the first (blog) I really love the room that uses the bright orange, it's so fun :)

For themes, there is the under water, jungle animals, dr suess, circus, sesame street, winnie the pooh, I personally would go with more of a color scheme like rainbow colors or primary colors :)

This last one is more of a vintage theme (I guess you'd call it that), but I love it and it's true neutral

However you do the room, remember that yellow and green aren't the only neutrals. Red, orange, baby blue, and black all work really well in neutral rooms.

You could do a Honey Bee theme.

I did stars and moon theme for mine but my room was blue because it was already painted that color and I didn't want to repaint it.

Now I'm seeing a black and yellow nursery with bumble bees all over it... LOVE that! (I need another baby!)

I love the honey bee idea! You could use lots of bright yellow. You could even do a sun like the first photo in this post
Oops! just tried posting a link and it wouldn't let me. If you search "Never Listless Gender Neutral" it should bring it up.

I did a yellow and gray nursery with some green and I like how it turned out. I brought in giraffes and elephants with the curtains and book slings. Then I had a whole wall of interchangeable pictures.

Same thing here... you can search "Never Listless The Nursery Chronicles." Sorry I couldn't link it!

I hope this helps!

Good luck!

There are some great gender neutral nursery ideas out there. Especially if you like a modern nursery. Chevron is beautiful in a nursery - I've seen it in several gender-neutral color schemes, like orange & white, gray & yellow (love!), brown & aqua - there is so much you can do! I did a blog post a year ago on nursery trends that are gender neutral - check it out for some inspiration: Nursery Design Trends
